• The Deportees

The Deportees; five twenty-something musicians from Aberdeen, Scotland.

With an emphasis on harmony-laden multi-way vocals, their music is a bit folk, a bit rock, a bit country, a bit pop. Although they are a new band on the scene, their members cut their teeth in such highly-rated Scottish acts as Edgar Prais and Eddison.

The Deportees aim is to make romantic, but not sentimental, music that is as much informed by contemporary Americana and indie-rock as it is by the timelessness of Celtic folk. The overall sound is unique; simultaneously fresh and forward-looking, but with one foot rooted in the folk tradition.
